Organized by Quad:

  • Dietrick Quad is the large field along Washington Street directly opposite Cassell Coliseum. It’s closest to the athletic region of campus and is connected to Dietrick Hall, one of Virginia Tech’s dining facilities.
  • Slusher Beach is a secluded quad that features a volleyball court and proximity to War Memorial and the Drillfield.
  • Summit Quad is nestled between Cochrane and Ambler Johnston, with proximity to dining at West End and Dietrick, McComas Hall, and the athletic region of campus.
  • The Fishbowl is in the center of the Oak Lane Community, which provides residential living areas for Fraternity and Sorority Life organizations. It features recreational fields, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and a pavilion that may be reserved by on-campus groups.
  • Upper Quad is home to the Corps of Cadets and encompasses Pearson Hall East and West, academic buildings Shanks Hall and Major Williams Hall, as well as the historic Lane Hall in the center. Features include the ranger outdoor training area, memorial, and large traditional VT shaped quad.
  • The Creativity and Innovation District Residence Hall does not have a quad; however, the entrance features chairs and tables and green space.
  • Donaldson Brown Hall, home to the Graduate Life Center, does not have a quad; however, the entrance has a seating area and large lawn.
