Recycling batteries and E-Waste
The Envioronmental Student Organization (ESO) collects used household batteries, 9-volts, and electronic batteries from several locations around campus, including several residential spaces. Collection stations can be found in the Newman mail room and at the front desks of the AJ and Peddrew-Yates lobbies. For more information please contact the Sustainability Manager.
Curious about how to recycle or dispose of electronics? Check out this resource. Please note this is an external resource that is not maintained by Virginia Tech.
Donating gently used clothing, books, and electronics
We want what you got!
The annual end of year Y-toss collection isn’t the only way keep items you can no longer use out of the waste stream. The YMCA at Virginia Tech has partnered with Housing and Residence Life to place collection bins in nine residence hall spaces on campus. These bins are a great way to donate small items like books, clothing, and small electronics. The items collected will be available to other Hokies during the Y-toss sale each fall.
Have questions? Please contact Enrique Rebolledo at outreach@vtymca.org.
