The role of Student Engagement and Campus Life is to get your student connected and encourage them to stay engaged.

With more than 800 student organizations, we’re confident your student will find their niche (Gobblerfest is a great place to start). Even if they choose not to get involved in an organization, there’s always room on a Squires Student Center couch for them to eat, laugh, and study with the lifelong friends they’re about to make.

Weeks of Welcome

Weeks of Welcome is a great tradition at Virginia Tech—it’s your student’s time to get acquainted with their home away from home, to make new friends, and to explore different parts of campus. This series of events is designed to welcome your student to campus and to continue preparing them for success in and out of the classroom. They can kick off the school year by connecting with the campus community through a variety of social, cultural, and academic activities. From the Welcome Back Picnic in Lane Stadium, to a movie on the Drillfield, to the Academic Success Seminar Series, to Gobblerfest—there’s something for everyone.
