Stephen Henninger serves as the Assistant Director of Housing & Residence Life, overseeing all recruitment, onboarding, and training initiatives for the department. Stephen firmly believes that a collegiate residential experience can be a transformational experience for students, faculty, and staff alike. His work focuses on developing students and professionals to be able to perform think critically about their work in supporting and advocating for students. Stephen holds a bachelor of arts from in political theory and constitutional democracy from Michigan State University and a master of science in student affairs in higher education from Miami University.
When not at work, Stephen can be found reading a book, listening to a podcast, or enjoying the beautiful New River Valley and Southwest Virginia. Stephen’s favorite Aspiration for Student Learning is Self-Understanding & Integrity. He has found that the most insightful and thought provoking conversations stem from issues related to Self-Understanding and Integrity.
