Sean Grube

Sean serves as Virginia Tech’s director for Housing and Residence Life, and believes that living on campus can be a transformational experience for students. He focuses on working with students to understand what they need and implement changes based on that feedback. He believes in the value of every voice. Sean holds a master of business administration in management from Rockhurst University, a master of education in college student affairs administration from the University of Georgia, and a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Kansas.

Sean has worked in higher education for nearly 20 years in the areas of residential life, student conduct, conference services, campus dining, and campus facilities at both large and small institutions.

Outside of the office, you’ll likely find Sean enjoying the outdoors. He enjoys camping (and chooses a hammock over a tent every time), spending time with his family, and playing with his dog.

Sean’s favorite Aspiration for Student Learning is Embracing Ut Prosim as a Way of Life. He believes deeply in the value of serving others.
