Kendall Pete serves as an Assistant Director of Residence Life assigned to the Peddrew-Yates (PY) Area which comprises the Peddrew-Yates, Payne, New Residence Hall East, Campbell, Eggleston, Pritchard, and the VT Corp of Cadets communities. In this role, Kendall supports the PY Area through campus partnerships and supervision of the Residential Learning Coordinators, Student Life Coordinators, and student staff members.
Kendall earned his bachelor’s degree, in Psychology, from Hampton University and holds a master’s degree in Community and Clinical Psychology from Norfolk State University. Previously, he served in several housing and residence life roles at Norfolk Sate, most recently as Associate Director for Residence Life and Academic Initiatives.
In his spare time, Kendall enjoys good music, good food, and good fellowship. He loves his family and dog, Gizmo, dearly. Kendall appreciates having a role in assisting students develop critical life skills and believes that living in community provides ample opportunities to sharpen them. For Kendall, observing and supporting students along their life journey is an honor and a service.

He said, “I believe in order to truly be in community, to lead and follow, and to develop and maintain strong relationships, it’s important to know and understand your values and remain integral to those values while appreciating the value and worth of others."
