Associate Director of Housing and Residence Life
Curtis serves as Associate Director for Housing and Residence Life at Virginia Tech. He provides oversight for the entire residential staff in collaboration with a senior leadership team that focuses on infusing aspirational learning into the daily work of the organization. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and Black studies from Denison University and a master of science in counseling at the State University of New York College at Buffalo, where he studied college student personnel administration. Prior to joining the Virginia Tech team, Curtis served for seven years as an associate director for residence life at The Ohio State University. He began his career as resident director at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
What drew Curtis to Virginia Tech is the institution’s commitment to exceptional service to its immediate, surrounding, and global communities. He is passionate about developing and growing with spirited members of the living and learning environments who are excited to play a role in changing the world.
Outside the office, Curtis enjoys time with family and friends, being physically active, and traveling as much as possible.
