Teresa Rice Wilson
Teresa Wilson serves as Housekeeping Manager in Housing and Residence Life. She has been with the Division of Student Affairs for more than 18 years. She manages the Upper Quad, President’s, Prairie, and Oak Lane Communities. Teresa is based in Owens Hall, and works diligently with maintenance, key shop, purchasing, and vendors.
A native of Giles County and graduate from Giles High School, Teresa is a proud Spartan. She has continued her education since coming to Virginia Tech, obtaining the Virginia Tech Supervision and Leadership Certificate, New River Community College Supervision and Leadership Certificate, Administrative Excellence Certificate, Human Resources Practices, and Office Software Skills Training Program. She is currently working on her Customer Service Excellence Certificate and welcomes the opportunity to expand her knowledge. She believes you learn something new every day. She has also taken all of the Environmental Health and Safety Services Training offered, and manages the Safety Management System for the HRL Housekeeping Department.
Teresa was raised beside the New River and loves spending time with family and friends along the New River in Pembroke. She has proudly been married for 30 years to her high school sweetheart. They share two children, Brittney and Ryan, who both college graduates and work at Virginia Tech. She is an avid reader, enjoys movies, her cat, Grace, her Chocolate Lab, Jake, her grandcat, Alex, and her granddogs, Rugger and Cole.
Teresa’s favorite Aspiration is Ut Prosim (That I May Serve). She said, “Virginia Tech is a community that embodies that, and working here it becomes a way of life. It always makes you feel good to know you have helped someone else.”
