Sam Harbison

Graduate Life Center/Vawter Hall/Newman Hall/Barringer Hall/Miles Hall RLC

Sam serves as Residential Learning Coordinator for the Graduate Life Center at Donaldson Brown as well as Vawter, Newman, Barringer, and Miles Halls. As a part of her work on campus, Sam partners with the Graduate School. She received a B.S. degree in Learning and Pedagogy and an M.Ed. in Counseling: Student Affairs from Northern Arizona University.

A first-generation college student, Sam was first in her family to attend college and she’s very passionate about inclusion and social justice. She works to advocate and educate students about diversity and inclusion to ensure we’re creating a more just society in the future. Sam loves working at Virginia Tech because of the learning-centered and caring environment. Her favorite Aspirations are Civility and Courageous Leadership. 

Sam lives with her dog, Frodo, and cat, Remy. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, painting, baking, crafts, and watching Netflix.
