Linzy Martinelli

Assistant Director for Residence Life, Ambler Johnston Area

Linzy serves as Assistant Director for Residence Life in the Ambler Johnston Area at Virginia Tech. In this role, Linzy is responsible for supervising professional residence life staff, including residential learning coordinators and student life coordinators. She works to build relationships, respond to community needs or crises, and oversee programs and services designed to enhance the educational experience and quality of student life in the residence halls (specifically Cochrane, Harper, Hillcrest, New Hall West, Pritchard, the Honors Residential Commons, and the Residential College at West Ambler Johnston).

Linzy grew up in a small Connecticut town with two older siblings and earned a B.S. in elementary education with a science concentration from North Carolina State University. She later earned a M.Ed. in higher education from The Pennsylvania State University. The 2017-18 academic year will mark her fifth year working at Virginia Tech. “I absolutely love it here!” she says.

Her favorite Aspirations for Student Learning are Curiosity and Ut Prosim (That I May Serve) because she loves to learn new things, meet new people, and invite different experiences. She also loves being able to serve students in defining who they want to be and help them reach their potential. Linzy enjoys playing and watching sports, hiking, spending time with family and friends, and meeting new people. She invites you to stop by and say hi!
