Senior Associate Director for Housing Services
Kenneth is Senior Associate Director for Housing Services and works directly with occupancy management, conference services, disability services, data and systems administration, and strategic planning. He received his bachelor’s degree in Physics with a minor in Chemistry and his masters of public administration degree from Virginia Tech.
Prior to starting his formal career in housing, Ken was a student employee with Housing and Residence Life and the Graduate School at Virginia Tech, as well as an officer in the Residence Hall Federation, a student governance group. Ken serves on the Virginia Association of College and University Housing Officers board and is an active member of the Virginia Student Services Conference planning committee.
Ken's systems thinking and process management focus are used daily to facilitate housing and dining operations and communications with students. He enjoys identifying and solving problems for students. Known for his "Cordially, Ken" e-mails, students have come to rely on information from him and the housing assignments staff.
Ken's activities during “down time” include home improvement, lurking about home improvement stores, and watching television shows about home improvement or the food channels.
Ken's favorite Aspiration for Student Learning is Practice Civility because this element is the foundation for a population to come together and advance as a whole, regardless of individual differences.
