Curtis Dugar

Associate Director of Housing and Residence Life

Curtis serves as Associate Director for Residence Life at Virginia Tech. His provides direct oversight for the entire residential staff in collaboration with a senior leadership team that focuses on infusing aspirational learning into the daily work of our organization. His office is located in the New Hall West administrative suite. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications and Black Studies from Denison University. Curtis went on to pursue his master of science in Counseling at the State University of New York College at Buffalo, where he studied College Student Personnel Administration. Prior to joining the Virginia Tech team, Curtis served for seven years as an Assistant Director for Residence Life at The Ohio State University. He began his career as Resident Director at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

What drew Curtis to Virginia Tech is the institution’s commitment to exceptional service to our immediate, surrounding, and global communities. He is passionate about developing and growing with spirited members of our living and learning environments who are excited to play a role in changing the world.

Outside of the office, Curtis enjoys time with family and friends, being physically active, and traveling as much as possible.
